Annabelle

Trip Leader: Costa Rica Active 2

Annabelle has been working at Bold Earth in different roles since 2017! A graduate of Seattle University with a bachelor’s degree in creative writing, she currently resides in New Mexico, where she teaches 5th grade. While she cherishes her role as an educator, the transition to “indoor” work leaves her yearning for the thrill of the great outdoors. Fortunately, the summer months provide her with the opportunity to follow her heart back to Bold Earth.

Before embarking on her teaching career, Annabelle immersed herself in the outdoor world, working as a farmer, guide, and outdoor educator for many years. Her experiences include serving as the logistics coordinator for Cottonwood Gulch Expeditions, where she led engaging outdoor trips for students, and as a crew supervisor for Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, guiding young adults on conservation-focused adventures. She also spent time as a team leader with AmeriCorps, further honing her leadership skills in the wilderness.

Annabelle’s expertise spans a diverse range of outdoor pursuits, from backpacking and rafting to mountain biking and captivating campfire games that last long into the night. She worked with all age groups in at least 5 different states and loved all of it. She has been trained as a Wilderness First Responder. She can’t wait to rejoin the Bold Earth community and welcome a new year of adventurers.
