Kai B

Kai was born in Sapporo, Japan, and moved to Seattle at 3 years old. He graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in international studies, and has most recently worked as a middle school teaching assistant in the Pacific Northwest at the Evergreen School in math and science. He’s also been a program assistant for Experience America, organizing study abroad programs for international students. At Camp Kesem, he directed the counselor-in-training program for teens and planned outreach events, and then interned at PeaceTrees Vietnam. He’s traveled through Japan, France, Hungary, and Czechia, and he’s played guitar in Seattle bands for the last 12 years (including recording four albums). Kai is a wilderness first responder and lifeguard and joins Bold Earth for his second year as a trip leader.
