Kayla

Trip Leader: Grand Canyon Adventure 2

Growing up in Keystone, Colorado, Kayla cultivated a deep love of skiing and hiking and an ever-evolving curiosity for animals, travel, and adventure. Kayla holds a BA in Animal Studies from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL. In the fall of 2023, she moved to Raleigh, NC, where she’s working on her Master of Science in Biology – studying snake behavior and welfare (who even thinks about how snakes behave?!).

She has spent many summers in the forests of Colorado working as an outdoor educator for Keystone Science School. Some of Kayla’s travel highlights include a study abroad homestay in Spain and time spent traveling through Tanzania, Vietnam, Guatemala, and various Caribbean islands. In her free time, you’ll likely find Kayla outside, watching any creature she may cross paths with, reading, or practicing yoga. Kayla has been trained as a Wilderness First Responder, a lifeguard, and a PADI Rescue Diver. This will be her second summer as a trip leader with Bold Earth.
